Except to stuff my face.
We enjoyed Thanksgiving: Billingsley, Party of two. It was strange, yes. And we missed our families, yes. But it was natural. And it was life. Life as we know it, and accept it.
And BONUS! I've always wanted to bite right into the turkey leg. And tonight, I was the hostess with the mostess -which included a turkey leg. So I took one good bite out of it, and checked it off my bucket list.
I don't think Thanksgiving can fully be understood until a little growing up occurs. As I was on my way to my retail job at 6 am on Thanksgiving, I was overwhelmed with a feeling that if someone asked me tomorrow to leave the life I have and everything in it, I would do it in a heartbeat. That is what thankful is to me. It's being so thankful for the blessings we don't deserve and harboring a willingness to give it all up for something greater than ourselves. Of course, there are some exceptions......
My prayer for the new year ahead is that God uses me to His service, that He reveals my gifts meant for His service. And that I have the courage to use those gifts for His glory.
Hoping you had a wonderful Thanksgiving.
And thank you for the continued support for Charity : Water! I did the math, in order to reach my goal of raising $500, it would only take 19.23076923076923 people. That's all! But it would serve 25 people. That's a gain of 5.76923076923077 or roughly 5-6% in social capital. That said, every little bit helps.
