Wishing Wedded Bliss For Chelsea

AH!  I have so much to say!  I'll start with the Clintons.  They're here.  Apparently, they had lunch at Gigi's on Friday and were enjoying drinks at Foster's by 3.  I can't really confirm this.  It's just the updates that I heard throughout the day at work from customers.  They are so in the know.  As I was applying smoothing cream to my hair before our date to Baby Cakes, (more on that in min.)  I was thinking about Chelsea and her hair.  She is so brave (?) to have her wedding day during the most humid days of the year in New York.  These are things I have to consider, GOD KNOWS she must too.  Although, she probably has a team of men holstered with smoothing cream and defusers follow her around all the time.  That must be it.

With the town-a-buzz and the streets blocked off, I plan to leave for work about an hour early.  It should be fun.  I just hope that when I ask a police officer why the streets are blocked, he doesn't reply with "I'm not at liberty to discuss."

Guess what officer, SECRETS OUT!

In other news unrelated to Chelsea, I've had a roller coaster of a week, complete with a melt-down.  Thursday was the end-all when nobody would take responsibility for the ridiculous amount of money taken from our account, more than we had, to be more precise.  By Friday, when it still wasn't fixed, I was struggling to compartmentalize at work, but from it all came compassion from a VERY unlikely source.

Friday night after work, we tried to forget it all with a gift card to Baby Cakes.  Only our favorite local restaurant with amazing food, good music and dessert that melts in your mouth and causes you to fall out of your seat.  I was really looking forward to free delicious dinner and good company with the hubs.  I definitely got that and we were graced with dinner theater from the table across from us who had a little too much to drink and a ridiculous, loud argument began.  It finally ended as our plates were being taken away, the band was back from their break and about 20 minutes after the girlfriend of the loudmouth finally said, "finish your beer so we can leave and go to bed."

Well, they didn't solve world hunger, but they DID leave looking like bone-heads, and they still didn't ruin the delicious flavor of my grilled tenderloin sammie.  All in all, an entertaining evening, to be sure.

I guess that's just the way the cookie crumbles.  This week the cookie is crumbling in Chelsea's favor, more than mine.  Hopefully next week I get a new cookie and that one will be more mindful of the way it crumbles.  If not, I'm getting a pickle, and I'm going to see if it squirts better than the cookie crumbles.

In the mean time, I'll remember and continue to pray for this guy and his new story.  I met him once when I was 15 on a Friday afternoon as he was the speaker at one of our youth group retreats.  By Saturday night he was washing my feet and telling me how special I am to Jesus.   He continues to minister to those who care for him, visit and read the blog through grace, love and complete and utter humbleness.

Thank you Jesus for gifting perspective.
