What on Earth is Frozen Rain? And How Bad Could it Really Be?

Hi blog friends! I just got called out of work for the second time in two weeks due to weather too awful for driving. Brings new meaning to retail therapy. This is a good thing particularly for me because we live on a big hill with big hilly roads that I got stuck in last week on my way to work.

So this is what a Nor'Eastern is, huh?

I was relieved to not have to go to work today, because, really, who doesn't love a surprise "Don't come into work." phone call. I know, those of us that are payed hourly. But in our case, we could use the extra time to pack and get our apartment ready for a snowy indoor garage house sale. Hopefully the weather cooperates this weekend.

Of course I wouldn't be me if I didn't instantly take a mental inventory of our pantry and fridge. And WHOOPS we have no food, but what we do have are icy hills outside. Except for the leftovers of 2 gallons of split pea we made a couple weeks ago and froze. So I think we'll be fine. I hope we'll be fine. We'll be fine.

This is what I get for not taking the weather man seriously.

Seriously.
