Remember when I told you that we have a problem? Well, it's not as big of a problem that I may have made it out to be. I MAY have overreacted. A bit. You see, I have a pretty insightful and spiritual husband that shows me with out even meaning to that HE should be the one writing this ol' bloggety blog. Here's why:
Today, like a lot of our days was really hard. But today had a healthy dose of crying, sadness, confusion, some bad words, and a lot of anger. I know, I'm a gem.
But I also have an extremely even-tempered, rational and internal thinking husband. (He's the M to my crazy W) When I needed it most, I got something I've prayed for. I got a husband that stepped up and played the spiritual leader card. And let me tell you, he's really good at it.
Not only do we have frogs and toads on our porch and walkway, but we have really tiny frogs perched up on our screen door.
You'll have to excuse some of the dirt up on the door. You city slickers may not know what its like out here in Nowheresville, but it's a little dirty sometimes. K?
Anyways, we always love to see them as we come and go. We greet them as we pass. Try as we may to move them, they just find there way back to that spot. So we gave up. And it's been a happy union ever since.
Ian told me that the other day, when things seemed to be coming undone, that something was revealed to him; He remembered something from a high school mission trip. He was reminded of the symbol of the frog.
We saw the frogs everyday, but what we didn't see for a long time was God's reminder to fully rely on Him. Fully rely on Him because He will never, no never forsake us. Those frogs mean so much more to me now, and as winter comes and they will soon leave, I am so glad that Ian was able to share that with me. God chose that particular spot so that we could see everyday as we come and go, He is with us. He's already walked where we are going and just reminding us to rely on Him and Him alone.
Praise God, y'all!
And if that weren't enough, I started to pray. To set the scene a little, the rain is back. It's been raining all day. Last week and this week were two soggy pieces of bread that made a sunshine weekend sandwich.
I love the metaphor of the storm. And I felt I needed to thank God for the storm because it was making me F.R.O.G real bad. In that moment, the rain that was trickling, began to POUR!
If you have any question as to whether God is near you, for you and so in love with you, stop and thank Him for the storm. Take the time to thank Him for loving you so big that the storm gets smaller and smaller. Because it does. Let me tell you, F.R.O.G.ing doesn't make the storm go away, but it sure makes it more manageable.
You can bet I'll be F.R.O.G. tomorrow. To work, to the store, in the car, and all the way back home to my frogs.
I ask you; will you?
Yep and AMEN!
