We have a problem.
Very often we are greeted at the door with the likes of these little creatures.
That's one of our white speckled frogs that hang out on our porch. We like them. They are harmless and just pretty awesome to look at on a daily basis.
But like I said. We have a problem. I have been weary of the toads and frogs around our house because at night and in the wee hours of the morn, it's too dark to see whats before me. As renters, we are at the mercy of a sorry excuse for outdoor lighting. And after hearing a story of a frog with a tragic end from a guy at work, I am a little bit nervous every time I walk to and fro.
In fact, just the other day, as Ian and I were walking from the car to the door, I said this,
"I just get so nervous about the frogs here, because I think that their natural defense mechanism is to stay still and look.....EEEEEEEE Oh my GOSH OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!!"
Ian replied with a quick turn around and a, "WHAT??!!"
As to which I said, "I JUST KICKED A GIANT TOAD!!! OH MY GOSH OH MY GOSH!"
Needless to say, the toad figured out that the rock impersonation defense mechanism didn't work in that situation and promptly hopped away.
Like I said, I like frogs and toads. But I do NOT like kicking them and my worst nightmare would be to squish one.
Then what would I do???
Hoppy Weekend, everybody!
Kate, I think you and Ian should have a heart to heart with the toads. Tell them something like this "look, I really like you guys. Your presence in the yard is totally amazing. we love to watch you and be mezmerized by you. So please..if you could, would you not do your posing on the carport? it is really danger ous for you as well as for us! We could both have serious helath issues becuse of it! So guys think about it... move to a better spot!"
ReplyDeleteSeee? so simple so easy.. and they WILL listen they don't move much!(apparently!)
