Returning

Since we've moved here, I hadn't seen the neighbors outside unless they were knocking on our door or in thier cars.  It's apparent through the walls that they have a few new dogs, and the other day, I saw from my living room door, the daughter neighbor in the backyard with her dog.  I was suddenly so embarrassed that she could see into our messy life.

Problem:  daughter neighbor uses the backyard now, and can see how messy we TEND to be;  on occasion.

Solution:  Go to Target and get curtains.

Yep.  Instead of cleaning, I got curtains.  But I am resourceful and of course, the purchasing of curtains is two-fold.  Besides the obvious shade, they are also cute and thermal, and blue to match whichever color you want it to match in our funny little whimsical, starter living room.  And now, I feel slightly more comfortable watching Law and Order SVU while home alone.  Well....we'll see about that one.

I also found some clearance items that lent themselves to a fun little craft.  Also two-fold because they are clear glass lamps with no bottom.  So, besides the obvious much needed lighting in our newly shaded living room, I put flowers in the base of the lamp and now have a bright, colorful living room in more ways than one.  They are quirky and somewhat disproportionate.  They are oh so me.

Bright, cheerful colors and thermal curtains.  All I have to say is, Winter. Bring. It. On.

Ian looked so cute strolling the Target aisles with kelly green lamp shades, powder blue curtains and flowers peeking out of the cart.

The living room still has a lot of work ahead of it to make it just cozy and lively enough, but it's getting there.  When I was picking out flowers to add to the lamp, I felt fresh again.  I saw me coming back. Looking forward to whatever comes my way!
