Just Call Me Holly

Summer is on it's way out. It's 95 degrees today, but it's promising to be in the next hemisphere by the end of next month. I guess I can live with that. It's always good to find out new things about yourself, even as an adult.  As an example, I have found out that I like summer, but I don't looove summer. There's nothing really in it for me anymore. Starbucks doesn't offer summer breaks and I don't know anybody with a pool. Not to mention, I hear the Hudson is NOT for swimming. It's reserved for large breakers and PCB's. I don't fall under either one of those categories, so I will refrain.

Not to worry. I like to try and offer a little sense of hope in each one of my rambling posts. And boy have I got it. Fall is just around the corner. A perfect time to venture out on crisp, cool hikes, vino harvest, and just hunkering down awaiting the next Atlantic hurricane*. Ohhh, it's going to be wonderful. So cozy-wonderful. I do looove fall.

And this year, it's not just going to be sitting around watching the Gilmore Girls series on DVD for the 5th time this year. Nope, while the wind blows the beautiful fall leaves to the ground and we encounter our first cold snap of the year, I'll be multi-tasking whilst watching Gilmore Girls again. Cause guess what?

THIS GIRL'S GOT A HOBBY!

Yep. That's right. I'm going to learn how to sew. Give me a few days weeks, and that "Happy Planet" pattern will be a new bag. Mark my words.

For now I will read the manual entitled, How to Use and Enjoy Your New Sewing Machine

Thank you to the B's for sending such a fun surprise! You continue to out do yourselves with your generosity and we are thankful. We are so very thankful for the love and support that our families offer all the time. All the time!

Now, enjoy the rest of your summer. I will keep you posted on my sewing progress.

 Disclaimer:
*I realize we are inland and for many of those that are not, Atlantic Hurricanes are not wonderful.
