Highlights of an Anticipated Hum-drum Week

I wasn't looking forward to this week without my best friend here.  Without knowing what to expect, I was hoping for the best, but dreading boredom, nerves and a sneak peak of what it could be like when he's on externship somewhere other than here.

BUT, the week is half way gone with just one more wake-up to go before he's back, and I've actually had a pretty good week.  Here's a few highlights:

Feeding my competitive soul:
I won the Iced Via sales competition last week at work so this week I get to pick my deployment everyday.  That means, I get to choose if I work at the bar, in the drive through or at the front register.  I've been choosing the front register so that I don't have to have a head set on.  Bliss.  Pure bliss.  And more than anything, I LOVE TO WIN!!!

Making friends and charming their freakin' socks off:
One of the reasons that I hate work place gossip, among other reasons, is that when I hear co-workers, or partners, as it were, talk about someone, it makes me wonder what they are saying about me when I'm not there.  But today someone volunteered information that a certain cynic called me adorable.  ADORABLE!  I was shocked.  I mean, you know the type, cynical, artsy, musician type, and the adjective adorable came out of HIS mouth??  Apparently I have him fooled.  He seems to think that I am effortlessly funny, even when I don't even know it.  I don't think that I'll tell him that I actually try really hard.  But I'm winnin' those partners over one mishap of the mocha powder at a time.  I LOVE WINNING!!  And they love cleaning up after me.  I'm pretty sure.

I did find out today from my manager that when I enter the room and he says, shaking his head, "Katelyn, Katelyn, Katelyn," that it's in reference to The Odd Couple.  Not sure if this is a good or bad thing.  I will do further research, and get back to you.

Mail Call:
I received a package in the mail containing a super cute canister from my mom!

Tonight is small group and tomorrow is the Poughkeepsie farmers market and the Poets Walk in Rhinebeck with a friend.  And then IAN'S BAAAACK!  I can't wait!

Hope your week is going as well as mine has turned out to be!
