Climb On!

Ian's on a three week vacay. While we're making sure it is restful, we also want to take advantage of extra time, and do fun things.  Yesterday, after church, we set out for an adventure at the Mohonk Nature Preserve.  We heard that it was a fun hike, but really had no idea what was in store.  On the way there, we drove through New Paltz, a college town desperately wanting to be bohemian, but all too expensive to even be considered as such. (see also: Woodstock)  But it looked fun anyways, and we stopped just to check it out.

Then it was off to Mohonk

This next picture reminds me of when I would try on new clothes and my mom would say, "Shoulders OUT, Hips IN! Like a lady!" Or something like that, and I would just slouch, in hopes of one day, in my young adulthood, looking as though I am proudly showing off a growing baby belly, but, yet, I'm not. I just don't stand like a lady, so I just shrug my slouchy shoulders at the thought.

Oh yeah, Ian was there too.

We heard there was going to be some scrambling involved

The trick is to follow the yellow markings, and you shouldn't die

Right after I decided to defy all laws of gravity and put my faith in NIKE footwear.  Yet, only half way there. Also, you'll have to excuse the undergarments.  Heat and size, two extremes that do not bode well with modesty!

I should also note: I am not posing in this picture, as much as I am holding on for dear, sweet life!

We made it!

And with every triumph follows humility.  Just as I was feeling pretty B.A. about what I had just accomplished, I found out even the blind can do it....

Couldn't have asked for a better day!
